Five year old earn black belt in karate

A five year old boy from England has become one of the youngest ever in history to earn a black belt in karate despite struggling throughout his life with arthritis in its juvenile form.

And The Karate Kid, the cult movie that has influenced generations before him, Jake Frood also took to the martial arts form after watching film. The boy from the West Yorkshire city of Leeds first enrolled into the National Martial Arts College in the city and now harbors hopes of becoming the youngest trainer in the history of the combat sports by his tenth birthday.

He suffers from severe stiffness of the joint due to his condition and in spite of that, he has been able to achieve what is being hailed as one of the most impressive feats in martial arts history. His 31 year old mother Kerry stated about her son that he had watched the cult film The Karate Kid and absolutely fell head over heels in love with it and since then, has gone from strength to strength – to such an extent that she has even found out the odds from Unibet on him winning the world title.

She also mentioned that she hasn’t been able to find anyone her son’s age who has earned a black belt in karate and that in itself makes her immensely proud of her son. She also thanked martial arts for making her son what he is today and admitted that maybe without it, he wouldn’t have been the same.

She mentioned that people almost couldn’t believe Jake was so young when they saw him perform and also because he looks a lot young for his age too. Jake was just three years old when he was diagnosed with arthritis and even physiotherapy couldn’t help him because he couldn’t take it.

But Kerry stated that karate gave him his childhood back and hopes for a bright future.
